Year 3 & 4 Visit to Birmingham Symphony Hall: A Musical Journey Around the World
Our Year 3 and 4 pupils enjoyed an incredible trip to Symphony Hall this week, exploring the theme of “Compositions from Around the World.” Throughout the day, the children stamped their virtual passports after each performance, immersing themselves in music from different cultures and eras.
The lead conductor and compères brought the experience to life, engaging the children with a vibrant mix of tunes they knew and loved. The program included crowd-pleasers like Star Wars, Pirates of the Caribbean, and Harry Potter. A highlight for many was the thrilling set played on metal dustbins used as drums, it was fast-paced and electrifying!
The compères also introduced the children to the fascinating science behind the acoustics and architecture of Symphony Hall. At one point, they demonstrated the hall’s remarkable sound quality by dropping a pin, and the entire audience could hear it hit the floor!
The whole day was inspiring, with every pupil finding their own favourite moment. It was an unforgettable musical adventure for all!
