Year 3 Ancient Egypt Worksop

Year 3  had a wonderful morning with the History Man last Friday. They enjoyed a hands-on introduction to their new humanities topic of Ancient Egypt. It was great to get a real feel for life in Ancient Egypt through finding out about hieroglyphics and mummification, handling replica weapons and pottery, letting sands from the Sahara desert trickle through our fingers, playing Ancient Egyptian ‘board games’ and making clay scarab beetles. The children were fascinated to discover just how much the Egyptians influenced our way of life today – via the Ancient Greeks and the Romans!
