Year 3’s ‘What If?’ Board Inspires Curiosity and Creativity

In Year 3, Mrs. Atkinson has introduced an exciting new feature to the classroom a ‘What if?…’ questions board. Each week, a thought-provoking question will be posed, sparking imagination and lively discussions among the children.

This week’s question: ‘What if you could choose five fictional characters to be your friends? Who would you choose and why?’

Our pupils enthusiastically embraced the challenge, carefully considering who they would pick and why. Their choices ranged from beloved Harry Potter characters and mischievous Minions to classics like Paddington, Mr. Tickle, Moana, and even Danny the Champion of the World. Each child wrote their answers on post-it notes and added them to the board, creating a wonderful collage of ideas to inspire curiosity throughout the week.

The discussions that followed highlighted the children’s creativity and inquisitive minds. Their thoughtful reasons included picking Moana for her connection with the ocean and her ability to teach sailing, choosing Mr. Tickle for his humour and ability to make people laugh, and selecting Matilda for her intelligence and magical abilities.

What a fantastic showcase of imagination and curious thinking from Year 3, well done. We can’t wait to see next week’s ‘What if?’ question and the brilliant ideas it will inspire.
