Year 4 Explore the World of Area in Maths
This week in maths, 4J have been enjoying their focus on area, developing a deeper understanding of how to measure and calculate it in a variety of contexts. The children have been working hard to complete their classwork, confidently applying their skills to different shapes and problems, and showing excellent focus and perseverance throughout the week.
The excitement in the classroom has been building as the children look forward to their upcoming practical investigation: calculating how many iPads could fit onto the school playground! This real-world challenge will allow the children to apply their knowledge of area in a hands-on, fun way, encouraging teamwork, problem-solving, and critical thinking.
The enthusiasm in 4J has been infectious, with children eagerly sharing their ideas and predictions for the investigation. It promises to be a fantastic way to bring maths to life, helping them see the practical applications of what they are learning while sparking curiosity and creativity.
Well done, 4J your enthusiasm, determination, and love of learning really shine through in every lesson!
