Year 4 Tackle the Symmetry Challenge
This week in Maths, Year 4 pupils took on an exciting symmetry challenge, exploring mirror lines and reflections through hands-on investigation.
Working carefully and with great focus, the children were tasked with completing symmetrical figures, using their understanding of lines of symmetry to reflect shapes with accuracy and precision. It was fantastic to see them applying key mathematical vocabulary and reasoning as they checked and adjusted their reflections.
The activity not only strengthened their understanding of symmetry but also encouraged logical thinking, spatial awareness, and attention to detail. The classroom was full of curiosity, discussion, and collaboration as pupils worked to solve the challenge.
Well done Year 4, your reflective thinking really shone through!
