Year 5 Embrace their Love of Reading

Year 5 have really embraced their love of reading this half term. They enjoy their weekly visits to the fabulous school library, where they can relax, read and borrow books. They also love sitting in our cosy book nook in the classroom, and some choose to visit the school library at break time. The children have been recommending and swapping books, and talking about what they are enjoying. 

They are excited and motivated by the class challenge to build a tower of books as high as their teacher by Christmas! They are also taking part in an individual ‘10 Book Challenge’, recording every book they read and giving it a rating. 

 A few of their favourite books so far have been the Lottie Brooks series, Peanut Butter and Crackers, Malory Towers and The Lone Husky.
