Year 6 Face the Elements and the Egg Court at Croome Court

As part of their Nine Dots Challenge, Year 6 recently visited Croome Court and both groups experienced very different extremes of British weather! Last week’s adventurers battled wind and heavy rain, while this week’s team braved a heatwave.

During the trips, pupils took part in the much-loved (and slightly chaotic!) Egg Challenge. Each child was given an egg to decorate, name, and give a personality before being set one deceptively simple task: keep the egg safe and intact for the entire day.

The challenge began the moment they received their egg with one unfortunate casualty not even making it onto the minibus! At Croome, the children explored the grounds and ended the day with a visit to the RAF museum. All the while, their egg companions were carefully protected through every twist and turn.

Back at school, the excitement continued with the eagerly awaited Egg Court. Pupils whose eggs didn’t survive stood trial before their classmates, who acted as witnesses, judges, and sometimes even defence attorneys, sharing dramatic tales of how their egg met its fate. After much laughter and theatrical storytelling, the results were in: five eggs survived in Group One, and six in Group Two!

It was a brilliant experience that showcased Year 6’s teamwork, creativity, humour and resilience, no matter the weather (or the egg-related mishaps!).

Well done Year 6, you cracked it!
