Year 6 KSA Girls Crowned U11 IAPS Netball Regional Champions!
Last Friday, our Year 6 girls set off bright and early for the IAPS Netball Regional Tournament at Wrekin College, ready to give their all in pursuit of victory. Their approach was simple: focus on each game, one at a time, and play to the very best of their ability.
Their opening match was against familiar opponents, RGS The Grange. With some of the girls playing alongside them at club level, they knew it would be a tough contest. A nerve-wracking game for players, staff, and parents alike, but King’s emerged victorious with a 4-2 win. With their confidence building, the girls went on to win their next three games in impressive style: Prestfelde (5-1), Repton (10-1), and Packwood (7-1).
After a well-earned lunch break, kindly provided by Old Hall, the girls refocused and returned to the court with renewed determination. They continued their winning streak, securing victories against Old Hall (10-1) and Winterfold (7-2). By the time they reached their final game against Warwick Prep, they knew that one more win would send them to the National Finals.
Warwick Prep proved to be worthy opponents, making for a tense first half. With the scoreline tight, a calm and focused half-time team talk reminded the girls to play their game, keep possession, and remain composed. They did just that, finishing with a decisive 7-1 win and securing their place at Nationals!
This remarkable achievement marks only the second time in our school’s history that we have won an IAPS regional round and just the third time we have reached the finals. We are incredibly proud of the team and wish them the very best for Finals Day at Bryanston School, Dorset. Good luck, girls!
