Year 6 Pupils Come Together in Captivating Shakespearean Play
This week Year 6 pupils from King’s St Alban’s and King’s Hawford came together for an unforgettable morning of Shakespearean magic in the John Moore Theatre. The Young Shakespeare Company joined us once again, captivating the children with a lively, interactive performances of A Midsummer Night’s Dream, blending acted scenes, audience participation, and engaging narration. Many children joined the stage taking on key roles such as Hermia, Lysander, Helena, and Demetrius, stepping directly into the heart of the story.
Throughout the performance, the children were fully immersed, exploring the characters’ emotions, motives, and dilemmas through drama and language activities. The theatre was filled with laughter as both pupils and staff enjoyed the fast-paced storytelling and humorous moments. Energized by the experience, the children then enjoyed playtime together before working in groups to unravel Oberon’s Spell and craft their own imaginative versions. The morning wrapped up with a shared lunch, leaving everyone with lasting memories of a day filled with creativity and Shakespearean adventure. All in all, it proved to be a thoroughly enjoyable day, where friendships between the two year groups were further strengthened in readiness for September in Year 7 at King’s Worcester.
