Year 6 Pupils Making a Splash and Shooting Hoops

This week, our Year 6 pupils have been putting their energy and enthusiasm into sport, both in the pool and on the court.

In swimming, the focus was on honing front crawl technique, with pupils concentrating on body position, breathing rhythm, and efficient strokes. They worked on both sustained swimming and sprinting, practising the balance between control and speed. It was wonderful to see their determination to improve and the pride they took in refining their performance.

At the same time, the PE group turned their attention to basketball skills. Pupils practised shooting, passing, and finding space, with an emphasis on teamwork and communication. They quickly realised that success came not only from technical skill but also from working together and supporting one another on the court.

Throughout both activities, Year 6 showed impressive focus, resilience, and a real love for sport. Their commitment to developing new skills, while encouraging and supporting one another, made the sessions a real success. A fantastic effort from all involved!
