PA ensure an egg-celent end to the term

The children were in a festive mood this afternoon, despite the best efforts of the British weather! Thanks to our wonderful Parents’ Association, everyone enjoyed an afternoon full of Easter Treats.

Embracing the rain, the children took part in an egg hunt around the school grounds. Leaping over puddles, pupils were buzzing around school, searching for numbered coloured eggs to mark off on a piece of paper. They worked in pairs, small groups or with their parents, and it was brilliant to see plenty of teamwork on display. Our staff did a fantastic job guiding (should that be “herding”?) the children in their care around the campus. Everyone did a sterling job in rather soggy conditions.

The ice-cream van was surprisingly popular, given the inclement weather! Lots of children were spotted enjoying an ice cream or a lolly.

Once the children had marked off all the numbers and colours, they headed back into the warmth of The Barn to claim their chocolatey treat! It’s amazing what the lure of a chocolate egg can do! Some of the children sped around in record time, whilst others took a more laid-back approach.

Inside The Barn, the PA had set up a host of different Easter themed activities. There were Easter crafts, Pin the Tail on the Donkey, Easter glitter tattoos and lots of yummy treats. The parents and grandparents made the most of the warm drinks that were on offer.

King’s Hawford children (and their parents) are a resilient bunch and the heavy downpours did little to dampen their spirits or the enjoyment of the afternoon. We are very grateful to Mrs Carlisle and the Parents’ Association for putting on such a fantastic event. It really was the perfect way to end the Spring Term.
