King’s St Alban’s Recognised as a Distinguished Kindness School

We are delighted to announce that King’s St Alban’s has been recognised as a Distinguished Kindness School by the Random Acts of Kindness Foundation. This award celebrates schools that place kindness at the centre of their culture and recognises the positive impact this has on pupils, staff and the wider community.

At King’s St Alban’s, kindness is at the heart of everything we do. It underpins our relationships, shapes our community and plays a fundamental role in the development of every pupil throughout their school journey.

From our youngest pupils in Pre-Prep, who work towards achieving their Kindness Awards and learn the importance of helping others and being thoughtful friends, to our older pupils in the Prep Department, kindness and community remain central themes. As pupils grow, they develop a deeper understanding of empathy and compassion, learning to consider the needs and happiness of others while recognising the positive impact they can have on those around them

One of the most powerful examples of this ethos in action is our annual Community Tea Party, a much-loved event and highlight of the school calendar. By opening our doors to local residents, including those who may live alone or have limited opportunities for social interaction, we create meaningful connections across generations. Our pupils take great pride in welcoming guests, engaging them in conversation, sharing stories and showcasing their musical talents. The result is a wonderful afternoon of warmth, companionship and community spirit.

Events such as these demonstrate that kindness is not simply something we talk about at King’s St Alban’s; it is something we actively live and celebrate every day. Through these experiences, our pupils learn that small acts of kindness can have a lasting impact, helping to build stronger communities and fostering a genuine desire to contribute positively to the lives of others.

This award is a wonderful recognition of the values that define our school and of the kindness shown every day by our pupils, staff and families. We are incredibly proud to receive this honour and look forward to continuing to nurture a culture where kindness flourishes and every individual feels valued, supported and inspired to make a difference.
