Reception Share Their Learning with Family

Reception were delighted to welcome their parents and grandparents into the classroom this week for their special ‘Share with Me’ workshop. It was a wonderful opportunity for their grown-ups to experience a little taste of life in Reception and join in with some of the children’s favourite activities.

The session began with a much-loved Phonics game, ‘Bag of Sounds’, where the children proudly showed off their growing knowledge of letter sounds and demonstrated how to blend them together to read short words. It was fantastic to see their confidence shining through as they shared their learning with their special visitors!

The classroom then came alive with a range of exciting activities, as children and grown-ups explored together. From painting, writing and counting to tackling some trickier bilateral coordination challenges, there was plenty to keep everyone busy! The children were eager to show their grown-ups what they could do, sharing their achievements and enjoying the opportunity to learn together.

We brought our workshop to a lovely close with our familiar end-of-day song, ‘Tickly Rain’, giving everyone a special moment to share before heading home.

It was wonderful to welcome so many families into our classroom and celebrate the children’s learning together. We are incredibly proud of the progress Reception have made this half term, and it was a joy to see them sharing their growing confidence, skills and enthusiasm with the people who mean so much to them.
