A Sparkling Night at Hawford’s Fireworks

King’s Hawford welcomed children, families and friends from across the King’s Foundation for its much-loved annual Bonfire and Fireworks Night, bringing the school community together for an evening of entertainment and a mesmerising fireworks display.

With families from across the Foundation joining the celebrations, the event was a wonderful opportunity to catch up with friends and enjoy one of the highlights of the Hawford calendar.

There was plenty to keep everyone entertained, from light-up robots and the illuminated ‘Lampshade Ladies’ to a fire dancer and the funfair. Mr Roberts kept the evening full of fun as DJ and compère, providing the soundtrack to the celebrations. But it was the traditional bonfire, complete with a Guy Fawkes figure, and amazing fireworks display that were the stars of the show.

Families were spoilt for choice when it came to food, including delicious burgers from the Beefy Boys, pies, a waffle van, alongside candy floss and the PA’s annual stand, which provided hot dogs, doughnuts, drinks and sweet treats.

Our thanks go to the PA for the organisation and dedication behind this special evening. Particular thanks go to Mrs Pawley, for whom this was her final event following her time as PA Chair; we are hugely grateful for everything she has done for the Hawford community.
