The staff at King’s St Alban’s have put together a heart-warming video piece which has been sent to parents and children during the Covid-19 pandemic. The film piece was put together by Assistant Head, Lisa Kilbey, with the help of members of the team, teachers and support staff from all areas of the school.
Mrs Kilbey said, “We are a caring family school and everyone was keen to get involved. We wanted to show the children that we are all very much still here and supporting them. As their teachers and tutors we play a huge role in their lives and as such we thought it’s really important for them to see us smiling and in our own safe environments too.
The Head, Mr Chapman, added “It’s the perfect approach. We miss the children terribly and can’t wait for the school to be back up and running again. I’m sure they too miss their friends and teachers. We are all very lucky to still have regular interactions daily over on Class Dojo and Showbie, but nothing beats seeing teachers come together. We hope this has made our pupils smile.”
One pupil commented, “It’s so wonderful that our teachers have created that for us. It has made us all feel connected and really special. I see them every day online for our daily lessons, but this is just something special and really kind of them.”
Year two were so delighted to have received the video that they too wanted to get involved and replied with their own film of thanks.
King’s St Alban’s has run an extensive online learning programme for its pupils since the start of summer term. The staff are now preparing to open its doors again for children in Nursery, Reception, Year 1 and Year 6 on Monday 1st June.
