Autumn Term Pupil Leadership Team announced

At the start of last academic year, King’s Hawford introduced a Pupil Leadership Team. The Pupil Leadership Team is made up of the Heads of School together with a number of Prefects representing different aspects of life at King’s Hawford.

Modelled on the selection process in place for School Monitors at “Big King’s”, all Year 6 pupils were invited to submit an application for their chosen role by way of a handwritten letter outlining the reason/s they feel that they are suitable for the role.

Appointed on a termly basis, the appointments for the Autumn Term are as follows. The roles of Heads of School have been taken up by Poppy and Max. Michelle and Issy will become Academic Prefects,  Arya and Khaleefah our Sports Prefects, Edith and Barnaby Performance and Arts and Harriette and Johnnie Citizenship Prefects.

Extracts from their application letters for the various appointments included:

Michelle – Academic Prefect

‘King’s Hawford has shaped me into the person I am’

I like taking on challenges and have a strong “can do” attitude.

I am eager to make the most of Year 6 and I would love to finish my last year at King’s Hawford as a head of school or prefect.

Issie – Academic Prefect

KH Prefects

I may not have been at King’s Hawford as long as everyone else in Year 6, but I love King’s Hawford.

It would be an honour to have the responsibility of a school prefect or head of school.

Arya – Sports Prefect

KH Prefects

I really want to give something back to King’s Hawford as my time at the school is coming to an end and I have benefitted so much from the support of the whole King’s Hawford family.

Khaleefah – Sports Prefect

KH Prefects

I never knew how much loved cricket until I played it creatively at Hawford.

Being a sports prefect is not just about leading but about being able to inspire someone else to reach their goals. It is about working together as a team. That for me is a very satisfying goal to achieve.

Edith – Performing Arts Prefect

KH Prefects

I really want to be a prefect because I love King’s Hawford and like having responsibility. I believe I can help make King’s Hawford a better place.

Barnaby – Performing Arts Prefect

KH Prefects

I love King’s Hawford and the opportunities it gives me. I know the school well and all the things about it.

I think I would be a great performing arts prefect because I started as a shy boy hiding on the stage in my first nativity and  8 years later I am a confident boy who loves to perform.

Harriette – Citizenship Prefect

KH Prefects

Hawford, oh Hawford

How special you are

Your teachers, your children,

Your views, near and far.

My school is so special,

It lives in my heart,

I feel it

I FEEL IT!

Of me, it’s a part.

Johnnie – Citizenship Prefect

KH Prefects

I am very happy at King’s Hawford and would like to encourage other children to become involved as much as possible and to enjoy school as much as me.

Poppy – Head of School

KH Prefects

I would really like to be a more kind helpful person around school.

I would like to be a prefect this term, I’m ready to take on big responsibility this year – you won’t be disappointed.

Max – Head of School

KH Prefects

I have always wanted to be a responsible, kind and helpful role model for the younger years.

We wish this term’s Pupil Leadership the best of luck in their roles.
