Celebrating Success: Spring Term – Week 10

Today’s Celebration Assembly was jam-packed with awards meaning there was plenty of celebrating to be done.

As today was the last day of Sign Language Week, Mrs Phillips started assembly with a signed story on the screen encouraging all of the pupils to join in. The whole school enjoyed the story of ‘Little Beauty’, brilliantly signed by Leanne. After the story Mrs Phillips recapped some of the signs for ‘gorilla’, ‘keeper’, ‘beauty’ and ‘happy’.

After the story Mrs Hughes led the morning’s hymn. Year 5 and Year 6, who were seated in The Barn, gave a rousing performance! It definitely ensured everyone was wide awake and ready for the day ahead.

Next up, Mrs Phillips presented the Top House Point Scorers in each year group with their certificates. As we head towards the end of the Spring Term, House Points are becoming even more important. Well done to this week’s winners: William C (Rec), Sophia R (Y1), Elsa B-H (Y2), Finn M-P (Y3), Luca M (Y4), Khaleefa (Y5) and Molly W (Y6).

Last week saw Clent at the top of the leader board. Pupils were keen to see if their hard work this term had changed this. This week Bredon pupils had managed to accumulate the most house points! Well done Bredon. This meant that Clent have managed to cling on to the top spot of another week. It is an extremely close race with just 57 points separating the top and bottom of the table!

There were two activity badges to award today. Well done to Bella who has achieved her English Badge. Mrs Phillips praised ‘English Whizz‘ Bella who has impressed staff and both Hawford and King’s Senior with her recent English paper.

Well done to Austin in Year 2 who was the recipient of his Fellowship Badge today – a brilliant achievement Austin.

Mrs Phillips has handed out plenty of Head Teacher Awards this week. So many in fact that the recently replenished ‘Basket of Brilliance’  has taken quite a hit. A fair number of Year 6 pupils have been through Mrs Phillips’ office doors this week. Imogen B and Liv O were commended for their fantastic carousel creations in art.

Barnaby J, Shaan G, Finn MP all received HTAs for fabulous work in English based on their class text. Well done to Oscar H in Year 4 who was also the recipient of a HTA this week.

The assembly concluded with awards from the Tenner Challenge which drew to a close last week. With final totals totted it up we are pleased to announce that £2,107.48 has been raised from this brilliant initiative! Well done to all those involved.
