Celebrating Success: Summer Term Week 8
Reception:
- Well done to Theo, who received a Risk Taking Award for embracing all activities in the sports event with King’s Hawford this week.
- Alice is the class Super Star for being enthusiastic and engaged in all areas of her learning.
Year 1:
- For working independently to read and edit his writing, Thomas received an Independence Award.
- Nell earned a Super Star Certificate for listening and working hard all week. She was also congratulated on her fantastic mental maths work. Well done, Nell!
- Hibah, Magson and Charlie earned a round of applause for their terrific artwork inspired by David Hockney.
- Good luck to Tiegan, who will tackle the Three Peaks Challenge in aid of Project Gambia. This is no mean feat for little legs, and all for such a good cause.
Year 2:
- For believing in herself and being more independent in her working, Savannah earned a Risk Taking Award.
- Matthew is this week’s Super Star, thanks to his super enthusiasm in class.
Year 3:
- Cerys was congratulated on her superbly annotated diagram of an Egyptian Pharaoh. Mrs Atkinson was so delighted with it that she didn’t want to write on it!
- Well done to Millie, Cerys and Greta on their excellent Egyptian scarab paintings on papyrus paper.
Year 4:
- Sophia proudly showed us the medal she won when she came third in the lyrical dance section of her recent dance competition.
Year 5:
- As part of their science lessons on the human body, 5B designed posters depicting the differences between healthy and unhealthy lifestyles. Well done to Laura, Ana, Lily E, Alice, Samuel, Tom and Aelwen.
- Year Five have been practising their persuasive writing this week, putting forward an argument for consigning things they don’t like to Room 101. Inevitably, homework was a strong contender(!), however, there were a number of powerful and valid cases put forward. Millie nominated fake pockets, Isaac wanted to get rid of mosquitoes, Lily G wrote about litter and Otto chose fires. After a class vote, Rook’s argument for flies to be cast into Room 101 was the winner. Well done, Rook!
- Well done to all of Year Five, whose impeccable behaviour during this week’s visit to Worcester Cathedral inspired a member of the public to speak to Mrs Atkinson about what a delight they were.
Year 6:
- Well done to Ace and Harry on coming Joint First in the Aquathlon. This was a superb performance from both of you!
- Ace was in the limelight a second time, this time accompanied by Helena, as we congratulated them on their performances at the Mercian Area Athletics Championships this week. Helena achieved a personal best in the long jump and an impressive time of 2:59.4 in the 800m, and Ace qualified for the National Finals, coming second in the 1500m with a time of 5:43.5
