England Cricket Star Bryony Welcomed Back to Hawford

King’s Hawford was delighted to welcome former Hawford pupil and current international cricketer, Bryony G, back to the school on Monday.

Bryony, an Upper Sixth student at King’s Senior School, played for England U19s in the tri series in Australia earlier this year. Her exceptional talent has also won her professional contracts with Warwickshire and for Worcestershire.

She explained how her cricket journey started at Hawford when Mr Cook introduced her to the sport in Year 4, and she hasn’t looked back since!

During her visit, Bryony presented her England cricket shirt to the school, which was proudly received on behalf of Hawford by our Girls’ IAPS Cricket champions following their exceptional victory last week.

Pupils also had the opportunity to hear about Bryony’s cricketing journey and ask questions about her career. They posed some thoughtful and insightful questions, covering everything from what she eats to how she balances cricket with school work.
