Finishing the festival season on a high

U8 RGS The Grange Rugby Festival

This week our U8 rugby players enjoyed their final festival of the rugby season at RGS The Grange. The boys played four games and had obviously been saving the best for last. The children played some impressive rugby, stringing together several passes and running on to the ball to keep the intensity of the game going.

They managed to make six tackles in the final game to win the ball back, which was their goal for the fixture. They pressed in defence, which put pressure on the attacking team. It was great that the small cohort (eight boys) finished the rugby term with an impressive last performance. They were greeted at the end of the game by lots of proud and impressed parents.

U9 King’s St Alban’s Rugby Festival

This week our two U9 teams gave some incredible performance to bring to an end a highly successful season of rugby. It was great to see some free-flowing attacking, combining direct running with power and the excellent use of a well timed pass to exploit space. Saan G, Henry K, Harry G and George C lead their respective team’s attacks with determination and passion.

Both sides also created an almost impenetrable defensive wall, deploying their press defence well. Barnaby J tackled with particular skill and fortitude, to keep the opposition at bay.

The boys have had a truly amazing season, listening and picking up new techniques in training and transporting their newfound skills onto the pitch in fixtures.
