Hawford Welcomes Mrs Danks as Kindergarten Manager

We are delighted to welcome Mrs Danks to her new role of Kindergarten Manager at King’s Hawford.

Mrs Danks has been part of our school community for over ten years, having begun her journey as a volunteer while training to achieve her HLTA qualification.

Her first role was in Kindergarten One, where she later became the Kindergarten One Co-ordinator. From there, she moved into the role of Reception Teaching Assistant, a position she has thoroughly enjoyed, experiencing the other end of the Early Years Foundation Stage. Mrs Danks is currently partway through her Early Years Initial Teacher Training.

Having seen first-hand in her current Reception role how children step across from Kindergarten to our Reception classes, Mrs Danks will ensure every child and family receives a smooth transition into the next stage of their journey at Hawford.

Mrs Danks said: “Having previously been in Kindergarten, then moving to Reception then back again, I’m really looking forward to taking all that I have learnt and using it in my new role. I have a good relationship with Reception and Pre-Prep and I am looking forward to strengthening our Early Years community. I love being available for parents and sharing all that we do with them.”

“I love Hawford, I fell in love with the place 13 years ago when we toured with Barney and have loved it ever since. There are many things I love – especially how we encourage children to be children, allowing them to explore and learn on their own terms, and I love the space that we have. There is always something to do, go on a bear hunt, find the Gruffalo. We have a fantastic offering to suit all children and encourage each child to be the individual that they are.”

“Finally, I love the sense of community, we are more than just a school, we are family.”

Mrs Danks has two children currently at King’s, both of whom have experienced the full King’s journey themselves. Over the past year, she has been pleased to achieve two long-held personal goals by learning sign language and taking up crochet.
