Heart-warming Performances Bring Joy to Fernhill House

On Wednesday afternoon, thirty-nine excited children from Years 3 and 4 set off to Fernhill House Care Home for a special festive visit. Bringing together the talents of the Junior Choir and our LAMDA performers, they entertained the residents with a heart-warming programme of Christmas carols and poetry.

From the very first notes, the residents were delighted – many joining in with familiar, festive tunes. A standout moment came during the Junior Choir’s beautiful rendition of ‘Walking in the Air’ from The Snowman, which moved several members of the care home staff to tears.

To round off an already memorable afternoon, the children personally delivered Christmas cards to every resident and staff member. These beautifully crafted cards were all lovingly handmade by a number of Year 4 children: Indie F, whose idea it was, Lily G, Emily G, Isla H and Maddie P, adding an extra touch of warmth and kindness to the occasion.

A huge well done and thank you to Mrs Hughes and Mrs Carlisle for organising the visit and for all of their hard work this term preparing the performers.

It was a joyful and memorable afternoon, spreading festive cheer and creating wonderful memories for both our pupils and the Fernhill House community.
