IAPS Cricket Winners!
On Thursday, our joint Year 5&6 Girl’s Cricket team travelled to Bristol, as IAPS Champions, to defend their title as IAPS Cricket Winners!
After convincingly topping their group with two wins of over 40 runs, the team charged into the semi-final against KES Bath. The result was never in doubt as the girls batted powerfully, run sensibly and bowled with great accuracy. This led them to a final against Blue Coat School Edgbaston, to whom they had suffered a heavy defeat in a fixture the day before.
The girls showed cool heads in the field and bowled with precision, taking 7 wickets and restricting their opponents to a score of 26. Pippa P and Florrie W got the side off to an excellent start and despite a fight back with the opposition taking some wickets in the middle order, Marnie and Millie kept cool heads to steer the side safely home. The girls were superb throughout the day, both on and off the field and thoroughly deserved to be crowned IAPS Cricket Winning Champions for the second year running!
