King’s Hawford is excited to announce the launch of its latest accolade for children: the Wellbeing Badge.
This prestigious addition to the school’s badge collection recognizes and celebrates those who demonstrate a strong commitment to promoting wellbeing within the school community.
Achieving the Wellbeing Badge is no easy feat, as it requires meeting a rigorous set of criteria that emphasizes nurturing children’s wellbeing, fostering a positive environment, and amplifying their voice.
To earn this badge, children must actively participate in the Wellbeing Committee, a group dedicated to promoting mental health and emotional resilience within the school. They must also regularly attend the Wellbeing Club, contributing to its activities and discussions. In addition, badge candidates are tasked with using their creativity to design a wellbeing poster to spread awareness of the importance of self-care and kindness. Finally, they will be challenged to design an engaging wellbeing-themed game that encourages collaboration and promotes mental and physical health.
For Years 3 and 4, the criteria include:
- Attending and making valuable contributions to wellbeing-related meetings (such as Pupil Parliament), clubs, or enrichment sessions.
- Producing a poster explaining the five ways to wellbeing.
- Designing a game for their peers that relates to wellbeing.
For Years 5 and 6, the criteria include:
- Attending and making valuable contributions to wellbeing-related meetings (such as Pupil Parliament), clubs, or enrichment sessions.
- Producing a leaflet on mental health, wellbeing, or mindfulness.
- Completing wellbeing duties in the classroom and at playtime as a Wellbeing Prefect or as part of the Playtime Buddy System.
This exciting new initiative reflects King’s Hawford’s ongoing commitment to prioritizing the happiness and mental health of its children. The school eagerly anticipates the innovative contributions of its budding wellbeing champions as they work toward earning this special badge!
