King's Hawford

Newly founded Equestrian Team off to a winning start

This term we have seen another King’s Hawford first. The School is delighted to have our very own Equestrian Team; a group of pony-loving children have come together to form the very first King’s Hawford Equestrian team. The team, which is made up of Annie, Adelyn, Rosie and Chloe, took part in their very first event over the May Bank Holiday Weekend.

The team competed at Redcomb College in an NSEA (National Schools Equestrian Association) competition. Annie, Adelyn, Rosie and Chloe all had great rounds in the 40cm category and the team performed exceptionally well throughout the event, being rewarded with a second place finish. It is testament to the talent of these young riders, their ponies and their families that they finished in second place. They were up against 13 other teams, so a second place finish on their very first competition was an outstanding achievement. Their second place finish has earned them a place at the NSEA Grassroots Show Jumping Competition at Hickstead in August.

On an individual level, Annie came third out of forty-nine entries and as such has also qualified for the NSEA Grassroots Show Jumping Competition at Hickstead in August.

We are incredibly proud of these girls and we look forward to following the team’s progress throughout the rest of the season!
