Reception Welcome Newest Classroom Members

Our Reception class has had an exciting addition—ten fluffy chicks hatched on Sunday and Monday! Even more special, these chicks came from eggs laid by our very own school chickens.

The children have been fascinated by every stage of the process, from observing the eggs in the incubator to spotting the first cracks and finally seeing the chicks hatch. Their excitement and care have been a joy to see.

Each child has had the chance to enjoy gentle cuddles with the chicks, and our chick monitors have taken on the responsibility of changing food and water daily to keep them healthy.

The chicks have already been given some wonderful names: Daffodil, Rocky, Blondie, Buttercup, Daisy, Snowdrop, Marmalade, Ralph, Pingu, and Midnight.

We’re all looking forward to watching them grow and learning more about how to care for them in the weeks to come.
