Review of the week: Autumn Term Week 2

It was wonderful to get the School together for our first Celebration Assembly of the new academic year.  There is already a great number of ‘shout-outs’ and well-earned commendations.  What a great start to the year this has been!

Reception:

  • Theo earned a Focus certificate for superb concentration in maths and phonics.
  • Molly received a Super Star certificate for her engagement and enthusiasm in all she does.

Year 1

  • Thomas was awarded an Independence certificate for his writing.
  • Hugo is the class Super Star, thanks to his willingness to give of his best to everything he tries.

Year 2

  • Poppy received an Independence certificate.  She has a fabulous work ethic and always tries her best.
  • A Super Star award went to Rudy for always having a smile on his face and approaching tasks enthusiastically.
  • Mrs Cain was delighted with Year 2 for their observational drawing in art this week, particularly Bertie, Amber, Julietta, Poppy, Hugo, Elodie and Maddie.
  • Iris complete the Gadgeteer’s Summer Reading Challenge during the summer break.  Well done, Iris!

Year 3

  • Our Year 3 children have had a great start to the term.  Mrs Atkinson has been most impressed with their focus when writing about their holidays.  Well done in particular to Greta, Edith and Martha.
  • Zack, Henry, Greta and Nell were congratulated on their efforts in maths this week.
  • Well done, to Romi and Zack for always being so polite.  Both Mrs White and Mrs Atkinson have noticed their exceptional manners; they are respectful and always listen well, showing interest and enthusiasm for all that they do.  Well done, both!

Year 5

  • 5P had the tricky task of writing about themselves from the point of view of an inanimate object.  Mrs Pitts was particularly pleased with very interesting pieces from Joel, Sienna, Suzie, Charlotte and Helena.
  • Well done to Suzie, who read out her postcard from France.  She even managed to include some French vocabulary!  Bravo, Suzie!
  • Mrs Lewis was delighted with Arslan, Lily, Laura, Tom, Alice, Theo, James and Karla for their attention to detail and creativity when creating posters about the solar system.

Year 6

  • 6HM have been learning about rivers in geography this week and Ivan, Tia and Harry were congratulated on their beautifully presented findings.
  • Oliver, Conor, Evie and Lucy were the winners of the construction competition in this week’s architecture workshop and were presented with their prize of a mini wooden pyramid each.
  • Well done, Ralphie, for passing Grade 2 on the violin.
  • Mrs Beauchamp has been delighted with her maths set this week, so they all received a round of applause!

Sport:

  • Mrs Clark and Mr Hooman congratulated all of Years 5 and 6 on superb performances in this week’s fixtures.
  • Well done to Savannah for passing her Rainbow 25m award in swimming.
  • Brother and sister team, Erin and Joel, brought in the medals they earned helping Marley Cricket Club become League champions.  Well done, both of you!
