Match 1 – King’s Hawford v Bromsgrove School
From the very first whistle, the team set the tone for a dominant performance. With Aurelia captaining and confidently securing the opening centre pass, King’s Hawford immediately took control of the game. Aurelia and Vivienne formed a superb partnership through the centre court, moving the ball with pace and precision. Ellie and Elise supported brilliantly, linking play seamlessly up the court.
In defence, Amelie stayed focused despite having very little to do, marking her player tightly and preventing Bromsgrove from finding any rhythm. At the attacking end, Eleanor and Tilly were outstanding – creating space, driving strongly, and taking every opportunity. Tilly’s four quick-fire goals put Bromsgrove firmly on the back foot and gave Hawford a commanding lead.
After half-time rotations, Simi and Ffion entered the game and made valuable contributions on and off the ball. Ellie and Amelie produced some excellent interceptions to maintain possession, and Eleanor finished the match in style, scoring the final goal to secure a confident 5–0 victory.
It was a superb all-round team performance, with excellent movement and decision-making across the court. Aurelia was deservedly nominated Player of the Match by the opposition, and Mrs Butt would like to give a special mention to Tilly for her outstanding shooting display.
Match 2 – King’s Hawford v King’s St Alban’s
The girls carried their momentum into the second game, this time led by captain Tilly. They quickly recognised the quality of the KSA team, who were quick across the court and moved the ball well. However, King’s Hawford rose to the challenge with determination and teamwork.
Vivienne, Ellie and Elise were again central to the team’s success, using their athleticism and sharp timing to produce a series of crucial interceptions. Their efforts ensured Hawford maintained possession and created a steady stream of scoring opportunities.
At the defensive end, Simi and Eleanor worked tirelessly, applying tight marking and excellent pressure to limit KSA’s chances. Their commitment and reading of the game were key in keeping the opposition at bay in what became a very close and exciting contest.
In the end, the girls’ work rate, resilience and willingness to support one another earned them a narrow but thoroughly deserved victory. Eleanor was named Player of the Match by the opposition, and Mrs Butt would like to highlight Ellie H for her relentless energy and effort throughout.
