Broad Haven Trip Creates Special Memories for Year 4

Last week, our Year 4 children enjoyed an exciting four-day residential trip to Broad Haven, staying at the YHA Youth Hostel. The trip was packed with fun activities, learning opportunities and wonderful memories for everyone involved.

One of the highlights of the week was the daily dorm inspections, which created lots of laughter and friendly competition amongst the children! There was also plenty of time spent enjoying the beautiful beach, where the children played games, explored the shoreline and created impressive beach art.

The visit linked closely with our Humanities topic on Tourism. Pupils spoke with local shop owners about the importance of tourism to the area and learned how visitors help support local businesses and communities.

The children also explored fascinating rock pools as part of their Science topic on Habitats and Living Things, discovering a variety of sea creatures and learning more about coastal ecosystems. Another favourite activity was the headland walk, where everyone enjoyed the stunning scenery and adventurous route.

On Wednesday evening, the children visited the RNLI station in Little Haven. This was a fantastic experience where they heard real-life rescue stories, took part in practical exercises, dressed up in RNLI uniforms, explored the lifeboat and asked lots of thoughtful questions.

Thursday’s visit to Clerkenhill Farm was another big success. The children learned about how the family-run farm operates before enjoying activities including crazy golf, frisbee golf and a nature walk.

The trip was a brilliant experience from start to finish, and all the children thoroughly enjoyed themselves. They were a credit to the school throughout the visit.
