Supporting Malvern St James Families

We are sorry to hear the news regarding Malvern St James School and recognise how difficult and unsettling this will be for its community.

The King’s Worcester Foundation wishes to offer a supportive and practical conversation to MSJ families who may be considering their next steps for September. Where appropriate, we would be happy to discuss potential places across our schools and to answer any questions.

Hawford Teams Take Top-Three Finishes at Rectory Farm

Our Hawford NSEA team had a fantastic weekend at Rectory Farm Arena, with a full day of competition featuring huge classes of 40 – 50 riders at every height. It was wonderful to see so many of our riders stepping up and representing the school with confidence and determination.

40cm Class (Judged on Style)

A brilliant start to the day for our team in this class, which saw an impressive 47 competitors.

Claudia delivered an incredibly stylish round to take first place, qualifying for the finals at Hickstead later this year, an incredible achievement, especially as it was her first time competing for the school on her new pony, Toby.

Freddie also secured a Hickstead qualification with a fantastic clear round and sixth place.

India and Isla also rode well in a very competitive class.

The team produced a superb overall performance to take first place, securing a team qualification.

50cm Class (Optimum Time)

Set in the impressive main arena, this class brought plenty of excitement and atmosphere, particularly for our younger riders and ponies. Riding to an optimum time proved a great learning experience, and while perhaps a little on the speedy side at times, the team showed some fantastic, confident riding.

Freddie once again impressed, taking third place and another Hickstead qualification.

Claudia, Isla, and India all put in strong rounds in this challenging and quite daunting environment. The team achieved a well-earned third place, gaining another team qualification.

70–75cm Class (Speed)

A consistent and determined effort from Maysie, Adelyn, and Rosie in another large, competitive speed class resulted in a well-deserved third place team finish.

Adelyn rounded off the day with a strong performance to finish in seventh place.

We are incredibly proud of all our riders, Claudia, Freddie, India, Isla, Maysie, Adelyn, and Rosie, not only for their results, but for their teamwork, resilience, and sportsmanship throughout the day. Every team entered finished in the top three, which is a fantastic achievement.

We also missed Iona and Izzy this weekend, whose ponies have been unwell, but we’re very pleased to hear that they are both now on the mend and we look forward to welcoming them back to the team very soon.

A huge thank you, as always, to our parents for their continued support and for presenting both riders and ponies so beautifully.

Many thanks to Westonbirt School for sponsoring this fantastic event.
