House Matches Bring Netball Term to an Exciting Close

The much‑anticipated House Netball Matches brought a fantastic Netball term to a close, as our young netballers  showcased their skills on court in a wonderful display of Hawford House spirit!

Year 3 & 4

Thursday’s Year 3 & 4 House Netball Matches were a brilliant celebration of developing skill, teamwork, and house spirit. For many of our Year 3 pupils, this was their very first experience of Netball House Matches, and they rose to the occasion superbly. They demonstrated impressive understanding of their positions on the court and showcased the tremendous progress they have made since the start of the term.

Our Year 4s were outstanding role models throughout the afternoon, supporting their younger teammates with guidance, encouragement, and a wonderful display of leadership. The combination of enthusiasm from the Year 3s and confidence from the Year 4s made for a fantastic showcase of junior Netball.

Kinver

Kinver delivered a dominant performance from start to finish, winning all three of their matches. Their teamwork, determination, and clever movement created scoring opportunities which they converted confidently, finishing with a total of 8 goals. A superb effort worthy of the winners’ title.

Kinver Team: Gracie, Elise, Iona, Fifi, Tanith, Alice, Bonnie, Maddie, Syrenna

Malvern

Malvern impressed with their excellent movement through the centre court, linking attacks with fluidity and strong spatial awareness. Their teamwork was evident in every match, with players supporting one another and working hard to transition the ball effectively from defence into attack.

Malvern Team: Nancy, Florence, Maha, Olivia L, Emily, Isla, Sadie, Martha

Bredon

Bredon took to the court with great spirit, scoring an impressive 10 goals across the afternoon. They demonstrated accurate passing and strong attacking play, particularly shining in their competitive and closely-fought match against Kinver, which showcased their determination and progress.

Bredon Team: Mrs, Clancy, Poppy, Minnow, Aoife, Rosie, Georgina, Jessica

Clent

Clent produced some beautiful passages of play, linking up thoughtful, well‑timed passes throughout each game. Their standout moment came in a thrilling match against Malvern, where their commitment and teamwork earned them a well‑deserved draw. A fantastic effort from every player.

Clent Team: Marelia, Olivia P, Trixie, Elizabeth, Lily, Indie, Bonita-May, Bella, Matilda

The afternoon was a wonderful display of developing skill, encouragement, and house pride. Every player should feel extremely proud of their contribution — it was a joy to see such progress, confidence, and enthusiasm on the court.

Well done to all Year 3 and 4 players, and congratulations once again to Kinver, this year’s champions!

Year 5 & 6

Bredon, Clent, Malvern and Kinver all stepped onto the court with energy, determination, and huge pride as they represented their houses. The girls relished the opportunity to showcase the skills they have been developing throughout the term, and every match was a brilliant example of competitive spirit played with fairness, sportsmanship and real team unity.

Clent

Led by House Captain Bella P and Vice-Captain Ariana P, Clent demonstrated impressive resilience and teamwork throughout the tournament. They worked tirelessly in every fixture, scoring a total of 7 goals and finishing with their standout performance against Kinver — a nail‑biting match decided by just a single goal. A brilliant effort from all involved and a hugely positive display of improvement and determination.

Bredon

House Captain Indie and Vice-Captain Rosie guided Bredon through a strong series of matches, leading by example with composure and commitment. The team created some excellent attacking opportunities, showing great vision and movement through the court. Their efforts were rewarded with 10 goals scored across the tournament — a clear reflection of their hard work and teamwork.

Bredon Team: Jasmine, Izzy, Rosie, Valerie, Indie, Amelie, Ellie H, Ellie M, Eleanor

Kinver

Bursting onto the court with trademark enthusiasm, Kinver were superbly led by House Captain Florrie and Vice-Captain Abi. Her team’s energy paid off early on as they secured two consecutive wins and pushed hard in their final match, narrowly missing out despite producing a remarkable 16 goals overall. A tremendous team performance filled with confidence, pace, and exciting Netball.

Kinver Team: Robyn, Florrie, Charlotte P, Abi, Georgia B, Vivienne, Nina, Sylvie, Ffion, Elizabeth

Malvern

Prepared, focused, and led with calm assurance by House Captain Daisy and Vice-Captain Zara, Malvern delivered a beautiful display of flowing, controlled Netball. Their teamwork shone through in all areas of the court – accurate shooting, excellent movement, and coordinated defensive pressure. They capitalised on their opportunities with precision and deservedly finished the afternoon undefeated.

Malvern Team: Charlotte F, Zara, Daisy, Maysie-Jayne, Connie, Elise, Fliss

Final Standings

1st – Malvern

2nd – Kinver

3rd – Bredon

4th – Clent

After a wonderfully enjoyable afternoon of Netball, Malvern were crowned champions, winning all three of their matches and securing valuable points towards the overall House Competition. Every team should be incredibly proud of their efforts; the skill level, enthusiasm and team spirit on display made it a truly memorable finale to the term.
