Kindergarten children take the lead in a Twinkly Nativity

Our Kindergarten 2 children helped us to kick-start the festive season here at King’s Hawford today as this year our KG2 pupils delivered their very own nativity, without the help of their friends in Reception. Thanks to the Kindergarten staff, the children in KG2 rose to the challenge, as each child took on a starring role and captured the hearts of the audience with their super sweet retelling of the traditional nativity story.

In a show jam-packed with catchy songs, the children showcased their wonderful singing and dance moves. They impressed everyone with confidence beyond their years as they be sang their little hearts out. The technical glitch at the start of the show did little to hamper their spirits, and Mrs Hughes was on hand to supply the backing music from the piano. Guided by the fantastic Kindergarten staff, the children simply raised their voices even louder and didn’t miss a beat.

The miracle of Jesus’ birth coincided with a modern day miracle, as the sound system came back to life; this raised the energy of each remaining performance even higher. By the final number, pupils were in their element and relishing the spotlight; this was a fantastic performance and it was wonderful to see all of children thoroughly enjoying themselves. The huge smiles and energetic waving when they spotted loved ones in the audience was heart-warming to witness.

As Mr Butt said in his introduction, the creative arts play a central role in our lives at King’s Hawford and, for many of our Kindergarten pupils, today was the very first of many performances in The Barn.

Well done to all of the brilliant members of the Early Years staff, who have worked extremely hard to ensure that the pupils were not only note-perfect on the day but were also able to step out of their comfort zones to perform at such a young age. Mrs Hooper did a wonderful job narrating the nativity and guiding the children through the performance.

Kindergarten, you were wonderful!
