LAMDA Pupils Rise to Occasion at Worcester Creative Arts Festival

On Saturday 14th March, a number of King’s Hawford LAMDA students took part in the Worcester Creative Arts Festival.

The event brought together young performers from across the city, offering them the opportunity to showcase their skills in poetry, monologues, and duologues.

Our children rose to the occasion with confidence and enthusiasm. The poetry performances were particularly striking, with pupils delivering powerful pieces that ranged from humorous and light-hearted to deeply thoughtful and moving. Each performance demonstrated not only strong memorisation but also a clear understanding of tone, rhythm, and expression.

The monologues allowed students to shine individually, taking to the stage with impressive poise. Portraying dramatic characters, they captivated the audience with their ability to convey emotion and hold attention. Their hard work and dedication were evident in every line.

Equally engaging were the duologues, where pairs of students worked together to bring scenes to life. These performances highlighted teamwork, timing, and communication, as each pair built believable relationships and dynamic interactions on stage.

Beyond the performances themselves, the festival was a valuable experience for all involved. Students developed confidence, improved their public speaking skills, and supported one another throughout the event. It was also a fantastic opportunity to celebrate the arts.

We are incredibly proud of all the children who participated. Their courage, creativity, and commitment truly reflected the spirit of our school. Congratulations to everyone involved in making the drama festival such a memorable success!

Thanks too to our fantastic LAMDA teacher, Mrs Carlisle, for all her hard work and dedication.
