Year 3 Visit Bishops Wood
On Monday, the Year 3 visited Bishop’s Wood to take part in a day full of Roman activities. In the morning, the children were put into contuberniums (squads of Roman soldiers) and were tasked with setting up camp and using a groma to create straight roads. After a delicious packed lunch, the children followed a trail in the woodland, learning Latin terms for various plants, foods and animals. To round off a brilliant day, the children got back into their contuberniums to act out either a historical Roman story or myth. Mrs Carlisle, our resident LAMDA teacher, would be proud of the acting on display.
