In an exhilarating game while on tour to Worcester, Hymers College’s Year 6 girls faced off against King’s Hawford with both showing determination and teamwork.

King’s Hawford displayed impressive netball skills throughout the match. Each team brought their best, making for an exciting contest played in four 10-minute quarters.

King’s showed strong, consistent passing from the start, allowing them to control the pace of the game with Millie coordinating centre court play. The girls showed skills and dominating play in defence with Pippa P, Elizabeth & Mary working tirelessly to keep the ball out of the opposition D. The wings of Iza and Pip K kept the ball moving fluidly between players, working seamlessly together to drive the ball into the shooting circle.

The centre court players were especially effective, moving with agility and ensuring they were always open for passes with Marnie always managing to find space and lose her marker and Thea holding her position well. Their quick decision-making and precise passing meant they maintained possession for significant periods, putting pressure on Hymers College defence.

King’s Hawford’ were on point (with most of the girls getting a chance to score in the game), converting a high percentage of their opportunities and consistently finding the net. Their accuracy in shooting and quick follow-ups on rebounds gave them a strong edge in scoring.

With great teamwork and communication, King’s Hawford maintained their momentum throughout all four quarters. The cohesive play across all positions—from defence to attack—helped them execute a well-rounded and strategic game, ultimately securing a well-deserved win.

Mrs Beech was extremely pleased with the girls and is looking forward the upcoming netball season.
