Supporting Malvern St James Families

We are sorry to hear the news regarding Malvern St James School and recognise how difficult and unsettling this will be for its community.

The King’s Worcester Foundation wishes to offer a supportive and practical conversation to MSJ families who may be considering their next steps for September. Where appropriate, we would be happy to discuss potential places across our schools and to answer any questions.

Contact us confidentially to arrange a conversation.

New school council representatives announced.

The School Council at King’s Hawford plays a central role in daily life within the school. Never short of volunteers to sit on the School Council, this year was no exception, with a record number of pupils preparing presentations setting out the reasons why they would be an excellent candidate. Pupils wishing to be considered for the School Council were then asked to present in front of their peers in individual class groups, with a class vote deciding who should go forward.

An important pupil voice within the school, the School Council helps to run special projects and initiatives, whilst also helping at events. Throughout the course of the year School Council representatives meet six times, once each half term, to discuss such project and initiatives as well as to talk about how we might improve the school. Examples from last year include: feedback on Thomas Franks our new caterers, running ‘Project Aviary’ initiatives, brainstorming ideas for more playground equipment as well as ideas for new clubs such as modelling club and new sports clubs.

Following class elections, we are delighted to announce this year’s school council representatives:

Year 6 – Arya P & Johnnie T

Year 5 – George & Christopher

Year 4 – Mary & Oliver

Year 3 – Zara & Jasper

Year 2 – Ori & Fern

Year 1 – Isla & Brax

In addition, the following pupils were co-opted on to the Council:

Year 6 – Michelle Z, Blythe T and Edith D

Year 5 – Henry W & Grace D

Gabriel (Y2) was also co-opted as Health & Safety expert – this is the role he held last year.

We wish the new appointed representatives the best of luck in their new roles and look forward to hearing what they have planned for the academic year ahead.
