Celebrating Success: Week 6

This morning the whole school joined together to celebrate all of the successes and triumphs that have taken place at King’s Hawford this week. Celebration Assembly kicked off with Year 3 leading the school from The Barn with this morning’s hymn Peace Perfect Peace.

After the hymn Mrs Phillips congratulated all of this week’s Head Teacher’s Award recipients. A steady stream of pupils have been to see Mrs Phillips this week to take a treat from the Basket of Brilliance and receive their sticker. Austin and Freddie in Year 1 have both produced excellent written work this week. Year 2 were tasked with producing some persuasive writing to help sell King Midas’ castle! Mr Roberts was extremely impressed with their efforts.

In Year 4, Seb received his HTA for gaining 100% success in his maths test and Darcy was awarded hers for creating a brilliant diary entry about Harry Potter’s trip to the zoo. Lisbeth was recognised for her outstanding contribution to this week’s netball match. Well done to you all!

As half term approaches, pupils across the school have been working hard in an effort to gain points for their houses. This week James took the honour of Top House Point Scorer for Reception alongside Rosie J in Year1, Freddie in Year 2, Pip K in Year 3, Bella in Year 4, Max in Year 5 and Emily J in Year 6.

Pupils across the school were eager to learn the current standings. With this week’s points taken into account, it is Kinver who are currently leading. With just 21 points between first and second place, anything could happen next week!

The school were treated to a wonderful musical performance from Year 5 pupil Barnaby, who wowed the audience in The Barn with his saxophone. Barnaby played Jupiter – it was a confident performance and many of the children seated in The Barn were familiar with the tune.

Mrs Phillips finished the assembly by congratulating all of the school’s sports teams. It has been a busy week on the sports fields and in the swimming pools and all those involved rose to the challenge and were great ambassadors for the school.  The whole school community is proud of the success the teams have had this past week. Next week is Random Acts of Kindness week at school and Mrs Phillips tasked all pupils with a mission to make next week the nicest and kindest week they possibly could.

In our Pre-Prep Celebration Assembly Mr Roberts and Mr Marsland presented Star of the Week awards to Ruby, Jasper, Zara and Indie. Ruby and Jasper both wrote impressive alternative endings for Sleeping Beauty. Zara was congratulated for her super effort and behaviour in class whilst Indie was commended for her effort in English and excellent persuasive writing! Robyn was awarded the Brilliant Manners certificate.

Year 1 Star of the Week awards went to Cassian, Tom, Rosie and Georgia!
