Celebration Assembly 09.10.20

It’s been another busy week at King’s St Alban’s and there was certainly a lot to celebrate during assembly!

Lots of children won Pre-Prep Superstar Awards this week. Hugo B and Elodie H in Reception each received an award. Hugo B for focus and Elodie for willingness to have a go at any tasks and being a kind member of the class. Greta W in Year 1 also received an award for her focus, and Zack L was recognised for being kind and helpful. Year 2 also received Superstar Awards – Emma G for her co-operation and Albert M-H for excelling in maths.

There’s also been plenty of work to celebrate. Milli W has done some brilliant work on fractions and Rupert B has been demonstrating fantastic independence with his work.

Mrs Atkinson has been very impressed with the excellent work all 3A children are producing in maths, with William R, Lottie F and Sienna Y getting shout-outs for superb work, focus and their growth mindset.

3E have been reading The Minpins by Roald Dahl this week and have shown fantastic imagination in their description of monsters using adjectives.

4R also had to practise their writing and produced some excellent homework. Teachers were particularly impressed with Jack B, Ace D and Harry Bradford for their neat work, great sentences and spelling.

6DB have been reading The Witches’ Speech from Macbeth and have been working in pairs to write their own speeches inspired by the play, using rhyming couplets. In particular, Luca S, Willoughby N, Hugo B, Henrietta V and Sophie P, have produced excellent work and worked well together.

It’s been an excellent week for maths across the school and 16 bronze times tables awards were also given out during the assembly.  There were also LAMDA assessments given out with distinction for 18 children and a merit for three.

The week was kicked off with the Chance to Dance showcase with children from Year 5 and Year 6 performing. The whole show was filmed and the finale performance was shown to all of our children today during the assembly. Well done to everyone who was involved and a big well done to Sophie P, Lydia S and Amelia W for their amazing job of learning two group dances in just two weeks.

A brilliant week for all!
