King’s Hawford pupils have plenty to celebrate
This week’s Celebration Assembly started with pupils joining their counterparts from across the Foundation to watch a special Coronation address from Headmaster, Mr Doodes. Pupils listened intently as Mr Doodes was beamed live into The Barn from the John Moore Theatre in the Senior School.
After Mr Doodes’ rousing presentation, Mr Butt shared the exciting news that our Senior Choir had won their hotly contested class at the Cheltenham Festival of Performing Arts. The Choir treated the assembly audience to performances of their two winning songs: The Bare Necessities (arranged by Greg Gilpin) and I Am The Wind by Lin Marsh. The audience were completely captivated by these two impressive performances; it was easy to see how the Choir had managed to scoop first place! You can read more about their success here.
From one outstanding success to another, Mr Butt congratulated the School’s very first Equestrian Team on their recent success at the National Schools Equestrian Association Competition. The very newly formed team comprising of Annie, Adelyn, Rosie and Chloe finished their first competition in second place. This has earned them a place at the NSEA Grassroots Show Jumping Competition at Hickstead in August. In addition to the team’s success, Annie also saw success individually, finishing third out of forty-nine entries, and also qualified for the NSEA competition at Hickstead. Mr Butt took great delight in presenting the girls with their rosettes. More information can be found here.
