There was huge excitement amongst the children at the Pre-Prep and Nursery earlier this week as the King’s St Alban’s Parent Social Group arrived to host a wonderfully creative afternoon of crafts and activities. The hype reached astronomical levels as they entered the Pre-Prep hall and discovered there was a very special visitor. You guessed it, Father Christmas was waiting for the children! The children took it in turns to meet with Father Christmas in class groups. They had endless questions about how he was getting on with his preparation for the big day, before every child received a small gift.
Each child created two beautiful decorations bound for their Christmas trees at home before decorating a gift bag to be filled with presents! There was plenty of glitter, pipe cleaners, tissue paper and the all important glue to go around, ensuring that the children were well and truly sticky and messy by the end of the afternoon.
The children had a moment of calm as they sat beautifully and listened to a Christmas story read by Mrs Jones (Year 2 Parent). It was a lovely afternoon, run by our wonderful parent social group volunteers. The children had a super afternoon and the hall was full of joyful Christmassy chatter. The countdown to Christmas really has begun!
The Christmas Craft Afternoon forms part of a diverse calendar of events run by the King’s St Alban’s Parent Social Group. In the past events have included a Halloween Party and a Summer Ball, to name but a few, whilst the group also supports the school with Open Mornings and other various events. Please do keep an eye out for future events and, should you wish to get involved in making these events happen, please contact the school office.
