Pupils excel in House Singing Competition

There was a hum of excitement in the theatre this morning for the annual house singing competition; a highlight of the year for many…a less favourite event for certain staff! All the children were in fine voice and commended for their enthusiasm by the adjudicator, Sam Hudson, Director of Music at Worcester Cathedral.

Bailey gave us a confident start, singing a beautiful Moana melody and were commended for their clear words and impressive sense of rhythm. Thomas house took us Down by the Riverside for a masterclass of how to sing in perfect harmony; very impressive singing and plenty of spirit! Wilson captured the reflective nature of Tears in Heaven, using their tuneful voices effectively to capture the emotion of the song. Armstrong house entertained us with their energetic performance of Take On Me by a-ha; commended for their rhythmic drive, effective use of big vocal range and a genuine sense of enjoyment.

Whilst Mr Hudson had the tricky job of deciding a winner, Pre-Prep joined in the singing fun by sharing one of their favourite action songs, The Magic Travel Machine. It is sure to say that the future of singing is safe at KSA!

All houses were commended for their sense of team spirit and house pride, with every child representing their house and producing a polished performance in less than 2 weeks of rehearsals. For this year, the title goes to Armstrong; it may have been the sunglasses that clinched it!
