U11s Perform Superbly at IAPS National Netball Finals
The King’s Hawford U11 Netball team can be incredibly proud of their outstanding efforts at the IAPS National Netball Finals, held on Wednesday.
The squad travelled to Kent for an overnight stay, making the experience even more special and memorable as they prepared to compete on the national stage.
The tournament was blessed with a beautiful sunny day, although the strong wind proved a real challenge, particularly for the shooters. Despite this, the girls showed remarkable resilience, adaptab ility and determination throughout every match.
One of the standout features of the day was the fantastic team spirit on display. Spirits were high from the very start after the girls watched a wonderful good luck video message from the King’s 1st team netballers. This set the tone for the day, with the team maintaining a fun, relaxed party vibe between games, complete with music, laughter and unwavering support for one another.
On court, the girls performed superbly, finishing fourth in a very competitive group and qualifying for the Plate Competition. After a hard‑fought Quarter Final, they were narrowly knocked out, but ended the tournament ranked within the top 16 IAPS schools in the country – an exceptional achievement and a true reflection of their hard work and commitment.
Individually and collectively, the team impressed throughout the day.
- Zara and Rosie worked tirelessly in defence, applying constant pressure and making crucial interceptions.
- Jasmine, Ariana and Izzy combined brilliantly in the attacking circle, creating excellent movement and generating strong shooting opportunities despite the difficult conditions.
- Florrie, Charlotte, Bella, Adelyn and Valerie all made hugely significant contributions through the centre court, showing great versatility, work rate and awareness in both attack and defence.
Overall, this was a very commendable performance and a fantastic experience for all involved, one that will undoubtedly inspire and motivate the girls as they continue their netball journey up to Big King’s.
A huge thank you must also go to the incredible travelling support from parents, whose encouragement was felt throughout the day, and to Mr Butt for his time and support.
Well done to the entire team on an excellent national finals campaign!
