Supporting Malvern St James Families

We are sorry to hear the news regarding Malvern St James School and recognise how difficult and unsettling this will be for its community.

The King’s Worcester Foundation wishes to offer a supportive and practical conversation to MSJ families who may be considering their next steps for September. Where appropriate, we would be happy to discuss potential places across our schools and to answer any questions.

Contact us confidentially to arrange a conversation.

Business Students Put Through their Paces in Dragons’ Den

Forty-two Lower Sixth Business students were put through their paces in the Science Lecture Theatre in a Dragons’ Den event on Thursday.

Our students had to present business plans to an impressive group of “dragons”, including two entrepreneurial OVs, Sophy Howard, founder of Watersedge, and Mo Patel, founder of MOBU.

Sophy and Mo were joined on the panel by John Roberts from NFU Mutual and Martin Sharples, founding director of amazon.co.uk.

Following the event, Sophy commented: “The enterprise shown by the Business students in coming up with and presenting their business ideas was inspiring to see.”

Mo added: “I had the chance to listen to bright, bold ideas from the next generation of business students – full of creativity, courage, and a willingness to step outside their comfort zone. It’s moments like these that shape confident, creative thinkers – and I was honoured to be proud of it.”

Gwyn Williams, from the Business and Economics Department, said: “Our students were definitely out of their comfort zone, but they equipped themselves well in justifying their proposals under fierce scrutiny”.

In a close-run contest, the winning team, chosen by the dragons, was the Bike Base team lead by Ollie R.
