Supporting Malvern St James Families

We are sorry to hear the news regarding Malvern St James School and recognise how difficult and unsettling this will be for its community.

The King’s Worcester Foundation wishes to offer a supportive and practical conversation to MSJ families who may be considering their next steps for September. Where appropriate, we would be happy to discuss potential places across our schools and to answer any questions.

King’s Swimmer Seal Victory at ESSA Super League

Talented swimmers from King’s are celebrating after taking first place in the final round of the English Schools’ Swimming Association’s (ESSA) Super League.

Twenty-nine pupils from Lower Four to Upper Remove travelled to Dean Close School to compete in the event; a national competition open to schools across England. Throughout the season, King’s has competed against schools from Cheltenham and the Bristol area, entering two swimmers, or relay teams, in almost every race thanks to the strength and depth of the squad.

King’s faced strong opposition from hosts Dean Close School, Berkeley Green UTC, Marling School and Stroud High School, but our swimmers displayed excellent technique, determination and team spirit throughout.

The team delivered impressive performances across the gala, securing numerous victories in both individual and relay events, underlining the depth of talent within the school squad.

The gala also provided an excellent opportunity for pupils who have developed their swimming through school, rather than club swimming, to demonstrate the diving, tumble turning and sprinting skills they have refined during King’s Swimming Academy sessions. It was particularly pleasing to see Georgia P, Joshua A, Sam R and Charlie M represent King’s so successfully, having shown outstanding commitment and determination in developing their technique over the past couple of years.

Our overall first-place finish highlights the continued strength of the school’s swimming programme and provides great encouragement for the year ahead.

A special thank you goes to Edith’s mother for collecting Edith D, Georgia P and Rosie W from Dean Close School so they could return to King’s in time to perform in the school’s dance production later that evening.

Congratulations to: Noah B, James B, Noah L, Alfie E, Charles C, Rowan T, Matthew P, Charlie M, Ariya R, Sam R, Joshua A, Izzy R, Isaac P, Harry C, Evie R, Olivia G, Shreya V, Ellie R, Pippa P, Amelia B, Fliss T, Helena C, Jonas H, Teddy C, Harry C, Mia G, Edith D, Georgia P and Rosie W, who all represented King’s extremely well and showed such excellent teamwork and commitment.
