Ex- England Rugby player, Heather Fisher, inspires King’s Pupils

Last week we welcomed Heather Fisher, former England rugby player and Thomas Franks ambassador, to the Senior School.

Our ADP (Athlete Development Programme) pupils were thrilled to hear about her experiences at the Rugby World Cup and 2016 Olympics, as well as her time with the Great Britain bobsleigh squad.

Heather gave an inspirational talk and Q&A session for our pupils, outlining the dedication, resilience and determination required to get to the top. From winning world cups to crashing out at Corner 9, walking out of contracts and losing her hair, Heather talked about how believing in your own values and knowing yourself are integral to becoming a high performer. Her motto “Be Brave, Be Bold and Be You” was central to her talk.

Sixth Former and aspiring rugby player, Christina, who last year joined the England Rugby U18 training camp added, “It was great to hear all about Heather’s sporting experiences. She has really inspired me, especially hearing about her rugby career and the hard work and dedication she put in to get where she has.”

Alongside this, Heather touched on the importance of balancing sport with a healthy diet, sharing valuable insight into the nutritional work she carries out with Thomas Franks, our catering partner here at King’s.

There was lots of positive feedback from those who attended the talk and Heather also generously gave her time afterwards to chat with eager students who had further questions and were interested to find out more.

A huge thank you Heather for joining us here at King’s Worcester.
