King’s Worcester Tops Daily Mail Rugby League and Advances in National Cup

The King’s Worcester 1st XV Rugby Team has made an electrifying start to the season, securing five consecutive victories and demonstrating their attacking prowess by scoring at least four tries in each game.

Their latest triumph, a commanding win against Solihull, has propelled them into round three of the prestigious National Cup.

The upcoming round promises to be an exciting encounter, with King’s set to host Warwick School in what is expected to be a highly anticipated and tough game.

In addition to their Cup success, King’s Worcester has also risen to the top of the National Daily Mail League standings. This league, which runs throughout the season, includes over 150 schools and ranks teams using a merit-based system. Unlike traditional leagues that rely solely on win-loss ratios, this system rewards points based on the strength of the opposition, making King’s Worcester’s early lead even more impressive.

“Our strong fixture list reflects the challenges we face week in, week out,” said Foundation Director of Sport, Mr Mason. “. We have a strong fixture list at King’s that challenges our teams with the likes of Solihull, Bloxham and Sir Thomas Rich coming in the first three games. It then does not get any easier looking ahead to Monmouth and Dean Close to name but two. This highlights the quality we have in the senior squad this season and it is with anticipation that we look forward to the challenges to come.”
