Rugby Triumphs Across All Levels
The King’s rugby season is off to a flying start with 12 teams fielded, securing 11 victories and suffering just one narrow loss.
Nearly 50 Lower Fourth boys took part in fixtures, marking an exciting beginning to their rugby journeys at the school. Among them, the U12A team made a stunning debut, delivering two dominant performances. They shut out their opponents with commanding 45-0 and 25-0 victories, showcasing remarkable skill, teamwork, and determination that has set a high bar for the season.
The U16B team also kicked off their season in style with strong wins in a triangular fixture against Radley and Bloxham, while the 1st XV had to fight hard to secure their own victory in a tightly contested match. Performances across all age groups have been outstanding, with a special mention going to the U16A team, who have been formidable, conceding only 7 points in two games while scoring over 100.
As the season heats up, exciting Cup fixtures are just around the corner. The 1st XV will face Solihull at home on Wednesday, 25th September, with a 2:30 pm kick-off. The U15s are set to take on Sir Thomas Rich’s at home on Saturday, 21st September at 2:30 pm, while the U14s will travel to RGS Worcester for an away fixture on Wednesday, 25th September, kicking off at 4:30 pm.
With such a strong start from every level, the King’s rugby program is gearing up for a promising and successful season.
