Welcome to the Sixth Form: A Day of New Beginnings

Our Sixth Form Induction Day is always a special occasion at King’s School Worcester, and this year was no exception!

The day began with a warm welcome in the theatre, where our new Acting Head, Dr. Oliver, delivered an inspiring presentation about the exciting challenges of the upcoming school year. Her talk emphasised the importance of embracing opportunities, staying organised, and making the most of the Sixth Form experience. Mr. Hand followed with a helpful outline of the day’s activities, ensuring everyone felt ready and raring to go.

From there, students split into their House groups for an introduction to Unifrog, a powerful tool for exploring future career paths, all within the familiar and supportive environment of House. Then, it was time for a delicious outdoor barbecue—a perfect opportunity to bond with new friends and reunite with familiar faces.

After lunch, the real fun began, students headed to the games fields for an afternoon of outdoor games and activities. Led by the Upper Sixth Heads of Houses, the activities ranged from giant jenga to rounders, offering something for everyone.

“The barbecue was a great chance to meet new members of the year group. In the afternoon, we walked to the fields to participate in a variety of activities and games led by the U6 Heads of Houses. These activities were fun but also strengthened the unity within our houses.” — Frankie L6

“Overall the day was incredibly enjoyable, setting a positive tone for the year to come.” — Isaac L6

As the day came to a close, there was a palpable sense of excitement in the air. The Induction Day was more than just an introduction to life in the Sixth Form; it was the start of a new chapter, where academic growth, lifelong friendships, and cherished memories are just waiting to be made.
