King’s Worcester Secures Place in 2026 Top 100 Cricketing Senior Schools
King’s is thrilled to have been recognised in the prestigious Cricketer Schools Guide 2026 as one of the UK’s Top 100 cricketing senior schools.
This accolade celebrates their long-standing cricketing tradition and unwavering commitment to developing young talent.
The Cricketer Schools Guide highlights schools that demonstrate exceptional dedication to cricket through curriculum integration, outstanding facilities, robust fixture programmes, and expert coaching. Inclusion in this guide is the result of a rigorous selection process and reflects the strength of our cricket provision.
King’s Worcester’s cricket programme continues to go from strength to strength. The Senior, Junior and Girls Cricket Academy sessions, extensive timetabled provision, and close links with Worcester County Cricket Club offer pupils unparalleled opportunities to train and compete at the highest level. The school also runs a development programme for children from King’s Hawford and King’s St Alban’s on Saturday mornings.
Over thirty King’s pupils are actively involved in Worcestershire, Gloucestershire, Warwickshire or Herefordshire’s Winter Training Programmes and Academies, Sub Academies and Emerging Player Programmes, including three who are currently playing for the club’s men’s and women’s first teams, showcasing the depth of talent within the school.
King’s has celebrated a string of cricket successes from current students recently. In October, Upper Sixth student, Henry H, was named as the Damien D’Oliveira Academy Player of the Year by Worcestershire County Cricket Club, as well as finishing top run scorer, top wicket taker, most catches and best strike while playing for the Midlands team in the summer’s Super 4s.
Additionally, student Seth E recently played for England Young Lions, while Phoebe B and Bryony G were called up to the England U19s as the squad gears up for the U19 World Cup in 2027.
Director of Cricket, Simon Greenall, commented: “We are delighted to be named in the Top 100 for 2026. It’s an exciting time for cricket at King’s, with pupils playing internationally, nationally and for the county, across the senior and prep schools. This top 100 recognition is a testament to the hard work of our pupils and staff, and we look forward to building on this success with an exciting season ahead.”
