Water Polo Team Secure Victory in Second Fixture
King’s was excited to host its second water polo fixture of the year, welcoming Warwick School for a friendly match in the school’s recently refurbished 25-metre swimming pool.
The match provided a valuable opportunity for Year 7 and 8 pupils to apply their growing skills in a competitive setting.
With several players from the previous encounter unavailable due to injury, a squad of thirteen pupils represented the school: Charlie W, Matthew P, Harry C, Jonas H, Bryn L, Monty E, Tom C, Henry R, Rufus P, Rook T, Henry W, Rory T and Tom B. The fixture also served as important preparation ahead of next week’s semi-final tournament in the English Schools’ Swimming Association National Water Polo Championships.
King’s made an impressive start, taking control early and leading 3 – 1 at the end of the first quarter. Their momentum continued into the second quarter, extending the lead to 6 – 1 by half time. Although Warwick School responded in the third quarter to narrow the gap slightly to 8 – 3, King’s remained firmly in control. Goals from Jonas, Tom B and Harry C helped secure a convincing 11 – 5 victory by the final whistle.
The fixture was organised in partnership with the local club Worcester Crocodiles, and the school extends its sincere thanks for their continued support and contribution to the programme.
The U13 Girls will compete in fixtures on Friday 24th April and Wednesday 6th May, while the U13 Boys return to action on Wednesday 29th April for their national semi-final tournament. King’s wishes all players the very best in their upcoming matches.
